English in the Early Years Foundation Stage
Children are taught early reading and writing skills following the Reading and Writing strands of the Literacy Area of Development. Staff use a variety of texts which offer rich opportunities for developing vocabulary through reading and which provide a strong stimulus for writing.

Maths in the Early Years Foundation Stage
Children are taught early number, shape and measure concepts through practical activities across all areas of the provision and a daily numbertime session. The materials are used to guide planning and teaching which follows the Number and Shape, Space and Measure strands of the Maths Area of Development.
